Kulgam, Jun 25 (KNO): The vital Kulgam-Behibagh road in South Kashmir is in a very dilapidated condition giving tough time to the commuters and passersby.
Locals from Kulgam, Chawalgam, Chansir, Shuch, Batapora, Mohammadpora, Akipora, Daderkoot and Behibagh said that the road was macadamized around one decade before and since the road is lying in a very dilapidated condition.
"The road is full of potholes which are giving tough to the commuters especially pregnant ladies and elderly people," they said.
"Kulgam-Behibagh road via Mohammedpora which stretches around 15 km is in a very bad condition as authorities have failed to macadamise the road since long," Mujtaba a local resident said.
He said that despite the road is connecting dozens of villages, authorities have ignored it over the years.
Locals said they had brought the issue to the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
"We request District Magistrate Kulgam and other officials of the concerned department to look into the matter and macadamize the road at an earliest so that locals can heave a sigh of relief," they said—(KNO)
